01. Adapt cities to climate change

Outline the climate trends of a given city in the short- to mid- term, taking into account:

  • The climate history of the city,
  • The geography and urban shape,
  • The evolution of key parameters such as temperature, rainfall, winds, nebulosity, radiant fluxes, and evapotranspiration,
  • The impact of variability and climate change upon human activities and health.

DELIVERABLE: A climate profile of the city, the main risks to expect in the near future, and decisions to implement into the adaptation scheme. All available in a confidential report supported by scientific material.

Provide forecasts of extreme climate events in the mid- to long term that could impact a city:

  • By using a permanent observation network on the ground and in the boundary layer of the atmosphere to monitor the variability of different climate parameters (Climate Birds and the meteoblue network),
  • Model the data sets in an application dedicated to the analysis of the urban micro-climate.

DELIVERABLE: An urban map of climate events and their frequencies will be released via a secured information platform. Through the model, assessing the capacity for adaptation would be tested.
